- Code scan found CEL was on for p0328 knock sensor 1B1 high. Its not actively on when testing. Found on start up that engine is knocking. Knock code could be related to knocking observed. Checked oil and found no oil on dipstick. Added almost 1qt to get it back to full. Found minor leaks at valve cover and cam seal. Cam seal will need timing kit replaced at the same time and could be due by time. Recommend engine flush and oil change. After flushing noticied knocking was quieter than it was. Noise is coming from upper engine and valve area. Lack of oil at some point is the likely cause. Problem will continue to get worse. Its important to keep oil at full level. Consumption at less than 1qt over the course of a oil change would be considered normal for the age of this vehicle. Recommend regularly checking oil in case this changes.
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection. Road test vehicle.
