confirmed no start, charged battery, cranks intermittent but still no start. code scan returned multiple ignition circuit codes. live data review found ec relay pid @ 0v. ecm1 fuse has power @ from ec relay but not @ ecm. lifted underhood fuse box for inspection found bulkhead connector is loose. TIGHTENED UNDERHOOD FUSE BOX BULKHEAD CONNECTOR TO FIX. cleared all codes.

RECOMMENDED REMOVING SPARK PLUGS AND INSTALLING CLEANER. RECOMMENDED INSTALLING OIL DEFLECTOR VALVE AND STARTING OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AGAIN.
removed engine oil pan. install deflector, replaced oil pump pickup oring, cleaned oil pan, new pan gasket.
Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection. Road test vehicle.
removed spark plugs. found #1 & #7 spark plugs oil crusted.
added gm top engine clean as per bulletin and let sit for 3 hours. removed excess fluid and installed new spark plugs.

Code scan found CEL was on for p0328 knock sensor 1B1 high. Its not actively on when testing. Found on start up that engine is knocking. Knock code could be related to knocking observed. Checked oil and found no oil on dipstick. Added almost 1qt to get it back to full. Found minor leaks at valve cover and cam seal. Cam seal will need timing kit replaced at the same time and could be due by time. Recommend engine flush and oil change. After flushing noticied knocking was quieter than it was. Noise is coming from upper engine and valve area. Lack of oil at some point is the likely cause. Problem will continue to get worse. Its important to keep oil at full level. Consumption at less than 1qt over the course of a oil change would be considered normal for the age of this vehicle. Recommend regularly checking oil in case this changes.

Pulled in and inspected. Found valve cover gaskets dry. They are not leaking at this time. Noticied a couple of new coils. Tune up recently done? Waited for approval to pull a plug. Customer states he has replaced 2 coils but not replaced any spark plugs. We recommend replacing spark plugs and boots. Customer declined at this time.

Replaced alternator. Installed new belt. Pulled ac belt and replaced it too

Replaced spark plugs and wires, Replaced air filter. Engine dipstick holder is broke in 3 pieces and holding together by dipstick. Replaced it.
FLUSHED INJECTORS AND CLEANED THROTTLE BODY.
Pulled pan. Changed filter. cleaned magnet. Fluid was dark but didn't have any contaminants in pan. Installed pan with gasket and filled with 5 qts of Ams trans fluid.

DIAGNOSED AND FOUND LOUD VALVE TRAIN NOISE. REMOVED VALVE COVER AND FOUND SEVERAL ROCKER ARMS LOOSE. TOOK OIL SAMPLE AND FOUND EVIDENCE OF METAL. RECOMMENDED ENGINE DUE TO DAMAGE AND MILEAGE.
REPLACED ENGINE ASSEMBLY. FOUND MOUNTS VERY WORN, REPLACED MOUNTS AND INSTALLED ENGINE INSTALL KIT(WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT, RADIATOR HOSES, OIL FILTER, SPARK PLUGS, SPARK PLUG WIRES, AND RADIATOR CAP. FILLED WITH NEW COOLANT AND OIL. REPLACED VALVE COVER WITH BUILT IN PCV VALVE. TEST DROVE AND VEHICLE RUNNING GREAT. NO DTC SET AND NO LEAKS FOUND. COOLANT TEMP REGULATING PROPERLY AND FANS COMING ON AS DESIGN WHEN COMMANDED.
