- Pulled in and inspected. Felt misfire right away. Found p0301 and p0300 random miss and cyl 1. Diagnosed and found 1 mds lifter has completely failed causing almost a dead miss cyl 1. Plug and wire appears to of been replaced. Removed spark plug and scoped cylinder, found intake valve not opening, notating failed lifter and possible damaged cam, I would recommend cam, lifters, oil pump pick up tube. Heads will need to be sent out to get machined. Then recommend complete tune up w wires along with water pump and thermostat when going back together.
- Drained fluids. Removed all accessory components around engine and prepped for removal. Removed engine assbly and swapped over valve covers, installed new water pump, thermosta, and all other necessary components. Found one motor mount with play and replaced before I installed engine back into place. Replaced both the knock sensor and vvt actuator for connectors broke. Replaced belt, filters, spark plugs, added fluids, and started bleeding the coolant system of air after starting. Cleared codes and let idle. Test drove and found not active codes.
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection. Road test vehicle.
