Services Performed
- Verified concern. Oil filter housing is leaking and I recommend upgrading to metal version so it won't be a issue in the future. I checked trans fluid and fluid is red but a darker shade of red. It is serviceable with no codes or shift concerns when I test drove it. I recommend a full fluid exchange on the transmission.
- Removed intake and gained access to oil filter housing. Found the oil cooler hose is swollen where oil has been sitting on it. I replaced the oil cooler hose while in there. Removed housing and replaced with new. Installed new gaskets on the intake manifold. Installed all back into place and torqued to spec. Checked for leaks and cleaned down the oil as well as I could. There is going to be some residual thats trapped in areas I can not get to. Recommend a drive in the next rain storm or a good under belly wash.
- Flushed transmission with synthetic AMS oil transmission fluid. Serviced 8 qts of fluid through the transmission until clean.
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection. Road test vehicle.
- I replaced this hose while intake was off. I disconnected it from behind the engine and then removed it from under the intake. Installed new one back into place.
