- Inspected and found engine slightly louder. There is a oil leak coming from valve cover gasket and vacuum pump. This is causing the burning smell when it drips on exhaust. Recommend replacing both. The lower engine strut mount is bad and can cause some extra noise when conditions are right. Usually, start up when the rpms are higher. Also found a heat shield touching the exhaust. Test drove after the mount was replaced and found there was some slight lack of power under harder acceleration. Turbo functioning correctly but either the wastegate is sticking or the regulating valve solenoid is not functioning. Performed and test and found that the wastegate is good but the solenoid will intermittently not function as it should. This is intermittent as the next drive it functioned with no problem at all. This could as cause the engine to make a louder sound when failing. Recommend regulating valve solenoid to correct concern. Notes; Engine air filter appears to be wrong. The filter cover screws are stripped/broken and this indicates the filter was forcibly installed. Also found coolant on the top right engine mount. Coolant reservoir cracked/leaking.
- Replaced valve cover gasket and cleaned the area. Checked for leaks.
- Replaced lower engine torque mount with new.
- Replaced coolant reservoir with new. Filled with coolant and tested for leaks. None found.
