- Confirmed concern. No DTCs. Inspected engine area and tested for vacuum leaks. Found large vacuum leak under the intake. Tested the front and back of manifold and found the leak on both sides. The leak is large. I will need to remove intake to inspect for damage or bad seals & replace intake gaskets, throttle body gasket. I also recommend spark plugs while there as much of the labor is in removing the intake.
- Took all necessary components loose to remove intake. Once intake was off I found one of the rear intake gaskets was pinched causing the intake leak. I also found pcv to manifold hose broke and repaired with bulk hose. The connector on one side is split. Replacing it with new. Dipstick was not bolted down so I connected it. Replaced the intake gaskets with new and saved the one bad one for customer. Once on I checked for leaks and none found. Vehicle is idling as it should.
- Pulled 3 spark plugs and all look like they have been replaced. Installed back. Installed new connector off brake booster that was split. Replaced broke pcv to manifold hose that was broke. The hose its self would of working if the connecting boots were not torn. The other shop connected the broke hose with a bulk hose with new hose clamps. If they would have replaced the end boots on this or just replaced the entire hose like we did it would not of been a concern.
